Have you experienced a ride in the Pirate Ship lately? Yup. That boat ride at carnivals/melas which oscillates to a point where your abdomen starts talking & your heart gets misplaced? If you observe closely, most of us go through a contrast of emotions in that one, single environment. When you’re at the top, you’re light, you’re mouth opens wide & as you go down, you tighten your body & scrunch your eyes. And as the ride reaches it’s peak, the intensity of these emotions just amplify. While thousands love the thrill of it, there are more who maintain a healthy distance from it. And in case you are someone who’s terrified to go on one, book a ticket to Shoojit Sircar’s latest “PINK” where Amitabh Bachchan & Piyush Mishra will make sure they create an intense, cringeworthy & most importantly an unequivocal emotional pirate ship ride for you. Pink is not just a movie. It’s a chapter you wish your school or college had; emboldened by your teachers. The 136 min plot shies away from any mediocrity or ‘subtleness’ & adds power to the conviction of the word ‘NO’. Amitabh Bachchan’s august performance will get behind your heart & kick it to a point where it’s ready to tear out from your torso. Ritesh Shah has scripted this one stunningly & Aniruddh Roy Chowdhury tells this more-than-important story in a splendid fashion. For the stupendous performances, worthwhile script/story & a much-needed cogitation on how/what women go through, Pink is more than just a “must-watch” film. #pink
